Yet again I am doing a catch up post. This is going to be a picture heavy entry. I have had lots of fun with the harvest fairy round and I made some fun stuff for me and my kids.

This series of photo's shows a custom Mei Tai I made as a fairy gift for a good friend. The straps are a soft corduroy padded for about the first 30 cm on top with 4 layers of warm and white. The bottom straps are double padded, but the actual body of the carrier adds 3 more layers of material within the waist strap. The body is Amy Butler Lotus, a hidden layer of canvas and a super soft cream corduroy. I made the body a bit taller then an early model to accommodate a toddler. The pictures don't show, but I later added loops on the upper straps to hold the hood up when baby is sleeping.

This is another custom Fairy order. It is a Podaegi made with a cream corduroy straps and a panel made from a Simon Didymos. You may notice in the first picture I kept the original width of the wrap, and just added a pleat.

This is another Podaegi made from a piece of a German woven wrap. This colorway is a Ginko Indio Didymos. I kept the original taper from the wrap, I just like how it looks. I added the pleat to this one as well. It has corduroy straps as well. So soft and snugly. This one is listed in my store as a second, because of a small inch long run that I had to repair in the straps.

This was an order I made for my SIL. I basically added a pocket for utensils and a tie to a placemat.

I was bored one night and had just gotten in this gorgeous fabric from a wonderful etsy seller ( http://fabricstash.etsy.com/ ). I decided to try something new. I will have a link to a tutorial for the skirt up soon, just waiting for the mama to publish it. The pants are unfinished in the first picture. I used a pattern I found at the local fabric store. I plan on making dresses with pink corduroy and a pink version of the owl fabric for the girls, I just need to find a pattern I like.

Here is another way too long in coming update. I have been so busy with the carrier fairy round. I just finished the last project so I can start posting some of the things I hand crafted for this round. the last one of course has to wait until the fairy has recieved. I am pretty tired and sore form doing so much in the last month. I will only be working on projects for the new baby and my kids in the next few weeks and I have a small project I need to finish for my sil too.
I will start with my first messanger bag. It was really fun coming up with a bag that suited the mama's needs. the reciever of this bag is a musician so she wanted to use it for sheet music and the like. Luckily I still had some sheet music of my own laying around to get measurements from. It's made from corduroy and a bonsia print fabric.

Here is a podaegi and a matching bag I made for my etsy store...

The pod is minkee lined and oh so soft.

And this was a custom order for the fairy round. It is a gorgeous echino print/corduroy/minkee pod.

The last 2 carriers will have to wait seeing as the fairies have yet to recieve, but they are both worth the wait. Have a crafty day!

Well it has been a busy couple of weeks, with me trying to get stock sewn for the etsy store and a new carrier fairy round starting up. There will be a few nuggled fairies. LOL. Here are some pictures of what I have been working on and I have a bag 90% completed too. This is a sling made from a medium weight twill with an experimental shoulder style. It's comfy, but a bit too wide for my tastes. I still prefer the 7 pleat sleepingbabay.net shoulder style. I am just listing the other half of slings I make for myslef, so don't expect to see too many LOL. I have a pretty full sling stash as it is. Nothing else too exciting up yet, I put up a couple of place mats and I have some bags precut. I just have to find time to sew in between mothering 4 kids, taking care of a house and DH and the daily tasks of shopping ect. SO once the fairies have all recieved their goodies I will post those as well as anything else I think of to make. I am goig to do a couple of baby lovies and maybe a hooded towel or two just to try something new. It gets boring sewing the same things all the time. :D

Well I was a busy beaver on Friday. I threw together 4 placemats, 2 for my SIL's kids and one more for mine plus one to sell. It felt good getting some sewing done. I have a tonne of exciting projects in the planning stages too.

Here is a picture of the kids enjoying the placemats.

And two of the others I have done. I have also made a mermaid one and 3 halloween ones :D.

This is something I made a while ago, but forgot to add. It's a travel/placemat chalkboard. The only change I need to make is a longer tie. They are fantastic. I love how easy chalk is to clean compared to crayons. My kids love it too. I am actually going to whip up about 6 more of them today, and I'll post pictures when those are done too. Here is the first prototype. I have to add I never work from patterns, except for the nappy bag LOL. Pattern directions confuse me.

I have to add a sling I made as a favor to an online friend. This cotton twill is uber soft. I am glad I have more, because I am going to make one just like it for me.

Here is another custom order bag. This one was interesting to work with since the decorater fabric was so light weight. Thank goodness for interfacing.

This is my version of the Amy Butler Nappy Bag. I love how huge this is, it really works well for carring all the stuff needed with 4 kids, soon to be 5. I plan on eventually making a mini version as a purse.

Here is a bag that I made as prize in raffel for a little boy who is dying of cancer.
